The “Women’s Studies International Joint Exchange Competition Project (WSIJEC)” is an online cultural educational exchange project administered by the International Exchange Institute (IEI). 

In the project, bicultural teams composed of undergraduate students from Towson University and other universities in U.S. and Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey communicate online to write the best essay on the theme of “Women and Media in the U.S. and Turkey.” In doing so, the students gain a transnational awareness of women’s issues as well as learn about the culture and the language of their partner’s country.
